The Relics are an exciting up and coming rock band from the Metro-Atlanta area. They were formed in the summer of 2017 and have quickly emerged as leaders in the Atlanta market. The band is constantly on the move playing both in and out of town shows. They have played in Athens, Nashville, St. Simons, Birmingham, Augusta, and are looking to do a southeast tour in 2020. Some notable highlights from the bands history include: releasing their debut single "Baby Blue" in September 2017, placing first at the MadLife Stage and Studios Battle of the Bands in April 2018, and playing at some of Atlanta's most renown venues. They released their debut EP in February 2019, which is available in all online stores.
The band members include: Joseph Pieper (Lead vocals, Guitar) Evan Borgese (Vocals, Bass) Mitch Pew (Lead guitar), and Greg Washington (drums).
Blending influences old and new: The Relics up beat music is characterized by catchy hooks, danceable rhythms, driving guitar leads, and tight vocal harmonies. Their music has elements of 1960s Brit rock, classic rock, garage rock, 90s pop rock, and modern alternative rock. Their live shows are full of energy and excitement.
Some of the Relics major influences include greats of the past like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Billy Joel, and Bob Dylan. As well as groups from the 90s and 2,000s like Green Day, Oasis, and Jet. These various influences have helped shape the Relics sound: one that is refreshingly new yet nostalgically familiar.
